O artista alemão Hein Semke (1899-1995), estabelecido em Portugal desde 1932, tem merecido, nos últimos anos, uma particular atenção, traduzida nas leituras renovadas que incidem sobre a sua obra artística multifacetada e de forte carácter expressionista. Utilizando diversos materiais e soluções plásticas, Semke explorou um vocabulário de formas propostas também para integração arquitectónica. É esta faceta da sua obra que o AzLab#28 se propõe a (re)descobrir, tendo como convidada Patrícia Nóbrega, doutoranda que, nos últimos anos, tem estudado o trabalho de Hein Semke nos seus diversos suportes mas, em particular, a cerâmica.

HEIN SEMKE: CERAMIC IN ARCHITECTURE

Particular attention has been paid to the German artist Hein Semke (1899-1995), established in Portugal since 1932, focusing on his multifaceted artistic work and of strong Expressionist character. The diverse materials and the different plastic solutions explored by Semke were also integrated and articulated with architecture. The AzLab#28 proposes to (re)discover this particular aspect of Semke’s work having as guest Patrícia Nóbrega, PhD student who, in recent years, has studied the work of Hein Semke in its various supports and, in particular, the ceramics.
