Paula André
Doutorada em Arquitectura e Urbanismo pelo ISCTE-IUL e mestre em História da Arte pela FCSH/UNL. É professora Auxiliar do Departamento de Arquitectura e Urbanismo do ISCTE-IUL. Investigadora do DINÂMIA’CET-IUL – Centro de Estudos sobre a Mudança Socioeconómica e o Território. Membro da equipa do projecto de investigação Printed Photography. Image and Propaganda (1934-1974). Tem desenvolvido investigação nas áreas da Teoria e História da Arquitectura e do Urbanismo, da História da Arte, das Cidades e Património e das Digital Humanities, com publicações no Brasil, na Argentina, em Espanha e em Portugal.

Ana Barata
Licenciada em História, variante em História da Arte, pela FSCH/UNL, e mestre em História da Arte Contemporânea, pela mesma Universidade, com a dissertação Lisboa 1860-1930: Realidades, desejos e ficções. Fez o Curso de Especialização em Ciências Documentais na FLUL e a pós-graduação em Gestão Cultural nas Cidades no INDEG/ISCTE. Entre 1990 e 1997 foi bibliotecária na Biblioteca Nacional. Desde Abril de 1997 é bibliotecária na Biblioteca de Arte da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, sendo responsável pelo Núcleo de Referência. É, desde 2005, membro do Standing Committee da Secção de Bibliotecas de Arte da IFLA. Tem publicado e apresentado diversos estudos quer sobre a história do desenvolvimento urbano de Lisboa nos séculos 19 e 20, quer sobre aspectos e obras da colecção documental da Biblioteca de Arte.

Tiago Matos Silva
Licenciado e doutorando em Antropologia Cultural pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa, investigador do Instituto de História Contemporânea (anteriormente do Centro de Estudos de Etnologia Portuguesa e do Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia), docente no Instituto de Formação Bancária. Interessado em questões de Memória, Política, Linguagem, Género,Violência e Trauma. Lisboeta, 39 anos, prosador acidental e maravilhado da arte que pula e avança pelas ruas.

Patrícia Nóbrega
Investigadora, desde Março de 2009, da Az – Rede de Investigação em Azulejo (ARTIS-IHA/FLUL), onde integrou, entre outros, os projetos “Catalogação de padrões da azulejaria portuguesa”, “Inventário do Património Azulejar do Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Central (CHLC)” e “Estudo de proveniências”. É mestre em Museologia pela FCSH-UNL com uma dissertação dedicada ao azulejo enquanto objeto museológico (2013). No âmbito da azulejaria, interessa-se por coleccionismo, proveniências e transferências culturais, tendo publicado, neste contexto, alguns artigos em revistas científicas.

Paula André
Paula André has a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism at ISCTE-IUL and a Master’s degree in History of Art at FCSH/UNL. She is assistant professor in the Department of Architecture and Urbanism at ISCTE-IUL and a researcher at DINÂMIA’CET-IUL – Centre for Socioeconomic and Territorial Studies. She is a member of the research project Printed Photography. Image and Propaganda (1934-1974). Her research areas are Theory and History of Architecture and Urbanism, History of Art, Cities and Heritage and Digital Humanities, with publications in Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Portugal.

Ana Barata
Ana Barata has a degree in History, History of Art at FSCH/UNL and a Master’s degree in Contemporary History of Art at the same University, with the dissertation Lisboa 1860-1930: Realidades, desejos e ficções (Lisbon 1860-1930: Realities, desires and fictions). She attended a specialization programme in Documental Sciences at FLUL and a post-graduation in Cultural Management in Cities at INDEG/ISCTE. Between 1990 and 1997 she was a librarian at the National Library. Since April of 1997 she is a librarian at the Art Library of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, being responsible for the Reference Center. Since 2005, she is a member of the Standing Committee of the Section of the IFLA Art Libraries. Ana Barata has been publishing and presenting several studies about the history of urban development of Lisbon in the 19th and 20th centuries, and the aspects and works of the documentary collection of the Art Library.

Tiago Matos Silva
Tiago Matos Silva has a degree in Cultural Anthropology at FSCH/UNL, where he is a PhD student in the same area. He is a researcher of the Contemporary History Institute (before, he was a researcher of the Centre of Portuguese Ethnological Studies and of the Centre for Research in Anthropology), and a professor at The Portuguese Bank Training Institute. He is interested in issues such as Memory, Politics, Language, Gender, Violence and Trauma. Tiago Matos Silva is from Lisbon, age 39, an accidental prose writer and amazed of the art that jumps and moves throughout the streets.

Patrícia Nóbrega
Researcher at Az – Rede de Investigação em Azulejo (ARTIS-IHA/FLUL) since March of 2009, Patrícia Nóbrega integrated, among others, the projects “Cataloguing Portuguese tile patterns”, “Inventory and study of the tile heritage of the Central Lisbon Hospital Centre (CHLC)” and “Provenances”. She has a Master’s degree in Museology at FCSH-UNL with a dissertation dedicated to azulejo as a museological object (2013). Her research areas are azulejos collections, provenances and cultural transfers, in which context she has authored several articles in scientific journals.

“WHAT IS THE AZULEJO OF YOUR LIFE?”

“What is the Azulejo of your life?” This was the “summer question” we defied several people to answer. The idea was that each person indicated a covering and explain the reasons for his or her choice.

For the next AzLab session we invited several of the participants to reflect on his or her choices and explore the role of the azulejo in the collective imaginary.
