Fátima Rodrigues
Professora Auxiliar do Departamento de Matemática da Faculdade de Ciência e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. As suas áreas de investigação são a Álgebra e a Combinatória. Dedica-se, ainda, a actividades de divulgação de ciência e tecnologia, em particular da matemática e a sua relação com a arte. Foi a coordenadora nacional do projecto europeu MiMa – Mathematics in the Making e a comissária da Exposição MATER, no âmbito da iniciativa Matemática do Planeta Terra 2013, onde foi responsável pelo módulo Matemática e Arte.
Pedro J. Freitas
Professor Auxiliar do Departamento de História e Filosofia das Ciências da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa. Faz investigação sobre matemática e a sua história, e dedica-se também a assuntos de divulgação e de interação entre matemática e arte — em particular, colabora há alguns anos com Simão Palmeirim no estudo da obra geométrica de Almada Negreiros.

Fátima Rodrigues
Assistant Professor of the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the New University of Lisbon. She received her doctorate in Mathematics in 2006 from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Her main research interests are Algebra and Combinatorics. She already participated in the Comenius LLP project MiMa – Mathematics in the Making and she was the Commissioner of the MATER Exhibition, in the framework of Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013. In this Exhibition she was responsible for the Mathematics and Art module, where a mathematical classification of pattern tiles and friezes was developed. She has also several years of experience concerning the development and application of math activities to young children and the dissemination of mathematical ideas to the general public.
Pedro Freitas
Assistant Professor of the Department of History and Philosophy of Sciences of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He received his doctorate in Mathematics in 1999 from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His main research interests are history of mathematics, and studies involving the relationship of mathematics and other subjects. For the past few years, he has developed, with Simão Palmeirim, a study of the geometric work of Almada Negreiros. He is also engaged in outreach and recreational mathematics.
